Bat Review : 2016 BJ Fulk

The new Worth Legit BJ Fulk series is probably one of the nastiest bats I’ve swung.  Right out of the wrapper.  We played at Winter Worlds at BLD in North Texas this past weekend, and when I broke my 2015 Legit I was left with my new BJ Fulk.  I had swung one at the Majors World Series but it was a 26 and a bit to light for me.  So when my new 27 arrived I couldn’t wait to see how it felt.

So as I did in my previous article, I will make a comparison and so we also hit the 2016 Worth Resmondo Legit and my Worth 2015 Powercell.

First things first… this bat is redonkulous…(yes not a real word but it was either that or “DAMN!!”).  Testing in the wrapper had the bat at 270.  After several rounds of BP with during which we hit Thunder ZN Stadiums, Thunder ZN Classic M’s and the Hot Dot M pluses.  The performance was excellent even with the M+ balls.  Then we tested the bat again and it was at 250.

This bat is a marvel of engineering.  The sweet spot is moved on the 12 1/2″ barrel closer to the end.  With the max end load this bat comes around quick and feels explosive in your hands.

Unlike the Resmondo Legit 2016 model I reviewed earlier this is not a pre production early model but was in fact not even supplied by Worth.  This was purchased “off the rack” from ASP Nation (thanks Lyf!!).

So now a few observations…the sweet spot is awesome, but in a slightly different location than the other model Worths.  Depending on your swing this bat may actually fit you better and give you more pop (I’ve seen it with my swing).  If you liked the old PST models, you’ll love this one.

I give this bat 5 out of 5…pending some durability tests. …which I will update you on after Snowball this next weekend.  Mine has held up nicely and is broken in and testing at 235 now.  I’ve had some players tell me theirs broke within a few hundred swings, but like anything I will study and report how long mine lasts as a benchmark.

Bottom line : Go get one of these bats.  See you out there.
